The Division’s IM/IT Program aims to increase Information Management efficiency by promoting increased use of information technology in general practice.

Training:

By GPs to GPs in their own practices for:

• Utilising medical packages to improve patient care

• Internet and email

• Computer maintenance procedures

• Database manipulation

• Implementation of PKI for health communication

Supports General Practice:

By providing training for practice staff in:

• Accounting software

• Medical packages

• Computer maintenance procedures

• Implementation of PKI for health business purposes

Provides GP IM/IT Advisers to:

• To advise general practitioners on setting up computer systems

• Promotes inter-practice support and mentoring
